Catcher In The Rye?
Well, this was one H E double hockey sticks of a book. I don't have any word to describe what i think about this book. At the beginning of the book, i really couldn't get into and read it. Once i got more toward the end, i wanted to read because everything that Holden was thinking and what Holden was doing got weirder and weirder. I thought that they way the book was read really made it hard for me to get into this book. I don't know what everyone else thought about this book but i can say that this was one of those books that I'm glad i read but never want to read again.

I totally agree, I wasn't into the book from the begining and just had to sit down and pound my way through it. But, just like you said, I'm glad I read it but I never want to read it (or even see it) again.
ReplyDeleteI completely undestand where you are coming from, this book was a weird one. I've never really read anything similar to Catcher. Sometimes I would like Holden and sometimes I would just think he's completely insane. I thought that Catcher was kind of hard to read, but now that we are reading Jane Eyre I almost wish we were back reading Holden's thoughts. At least they were a little funny. By the way, I like your opening line. It really caught my attention :)
